Looking up at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC from the spa.  I was just there for viewing the Nation Gingerbread House competition winners!  Admission is free!

Hello, Runaways!  It’s been forever!  I can honestly say that I have never intended to neglect the project of this blog for so long.  For those that stuck around, thank you and get ready for some big change!  This year we are headed towards a new direction including a couple unique travel ideas that from what I can tell, have never been done in the travel blogging or vlogging community!  But those two will be revealed in the next week before New Years.  That brings me to my second point here…  VLOGGING!!!  Yes, Expedition: Runaway is headed to YouTube in the next year in either the format of vlogging or video documentaries.  My brother and I are going to both become more serious with learning cinematography and content creating very soon and perhaps he will even become an honorary member of Expedition: Runaway!  I am also adding a Snapchat account by next week (hopefully) so yeah, there’s that…

So now onto the video/vlog idea.  What do you guys think?  Should I do a cinematography type of short travel movies channel or more of a travel vlog style where you see what I do every day or so?  I might do a bit of both ideas but please give your input.  I am so excited to begin this new journey into the unknown.  This will be a long journey but I am determined to succeed and to create a new style of travel that will catch on in the backpacker and travel blogging/vlogging communities!  I am thankful for help and criticism from any of you that are willing to join this project.  Remember, I am doing this for you and this is your community and it will be built to shape all those that fit into our Mission Statement (see below).  Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and see you next week!

Travel well,

Steven Chavez
