This picture is, to date, my favorite I have ever taken!

I’m still having trouble with the pictures uploading from my Drive, but more on the AZ trip is coming.  I was camping this last weekend, so excuse my late post!  I cannot express how much I enjoy camping or the amazing feel of getting closer to our more primitive selves.  Lake Jocassee in South Carolina has to be on my ‘favorite lakes in the mountains’ list.  It has some dramatic scenery with the mountains to the north rising up above the lake, and the sunrises and sunsets are truly something extraordinary, whether you’re religious or not.  We camped at Devil’s Fork State Park backed up against the forest which had trails that lead to the lake shore.

We camped at Devil’s Fork State Park backed up against the forest which had trails that lead to the lake shore.  When I camp, I wake up at the first sign of light to the east no matter what.  So both mornings, I woke up before anyone else and has a nice walk in the dim light through the campsites and when I returned, the sun was just about to rise, so I found a trail that leads out to a small cove and sat and waited.  What I got was so awesome, you really have to be there to understand.  The sky turned to fire and the sun peaked out above the mountains making a beautiful reflection that looked like a flame on the water.  I will definitely be camping there in the future!

Travel well,

Steven Chavez
