It’s a hard thing for me to come through here without going back and feeling like a kid traveling to North Carolina rather than from it.  Before we moved, I had lived in Arizona for over 10 years but had traveled across country to visit NC several time which is when we fell in love with the state.  As I was in the car yesterday, I felt as thou I was 8 years old looking at familiar scenery and places I have been before.

Roads traveled before are an old friend or a worst enemy.

About early afternoon we started to get into red rock country which was right after we passed Albuquerque.  I like free climbing whatever I can, whenever I can and passing all these rock formations made me want to hang around (pun intended) for a few days!  we soon crossed into Native American territory which again brought back many good memories and also reminded me that the west is unapologetic and never politically correct which I love and miss (Indians calling themselves Indians…?).  The coolest thing yesterday was that we came across a couple big herds of Pronghorn Antelope!  I have never seen them before even when I lived in AZ and traveled through the plains!  Unfortunately none of us got any pictures as we where going to fast to get the cameras out and ready.

I will make another post tonight about coming into Arizona and Flagstaff and I think we got some pretty cool pics between the 6 of us!  today we are heading through  and into Phoenix but we will be returning here to Northern AZ Thursday and will be here till Saturday next week!

Stay safe and travel well,
